This is a 4-5 month contract-to-hire position in St. Louis, Missouri. We are Lift, a user experience design company. We design and build amazing websites and applications using the best open source CMS in the world, WordPress.

We are looking for an absolutely fantastic WordPress developer to work out of our office in St. Louis. This person would work with our team and directly with clients as well as with themes and plugins for UpThemes.com. Some travel would be required.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience with WordPress
• 6+ years experience with PHP/MySQL
• Ability to communicate with VP-level stakeholders and above
• Deep knowledge of WordPress core, theming, best practices, and APIs
• Familiar with Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks
• Ability to create a WordPress theme with eyes closed
• Awesome at building custom WordPress plugins
• Ability to work with client development teams through all phases of a project
• Awesome at writing standards-compliant HTML/CSS/JS
• Ability to provide suggestions to improve existing plugins
• Experience with subversion/git.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Brightcove API and WordPress integration
• Experience with 3rd-party search platforms like Lijit, Google Search Appliance, etc.
• Experience with data migration from other databases
• Mac user
