Developer at Jigowatt Limited in Peterborough, UK
Official Magento Solutions Partner and WordPress Ninjas Jigowatt are looking for a developer to help on initially a contract basis with potentially a full time position longer term.
Required Skills:
Basic role involves coding HTML / PHP functions and being able to utilise them in multiple environments, in particular, the modification and expansion of Open Source software.
Web:
- Be able to code Web-Compliant Strict HTML/XHTML using development software (Dreamweaver)
- Use PHP system design / functions to overcome problems using logical functions in all areas
- Be able to build custom extensions in modular format for Open Source software such as Wordpress and Magento
- Know the structure and workings of both Wordpress and Magento and be able to make changes to workings without affecting ‘core files’
- Have experience working with data feeds in multiple formats, manipulating data to needs using PHP.
- Extensive experience using the Magento theme structure, must be able to create a custom template from the provided ‘Blank’ structure
- Be able to code the latest release of CSS to web-compliant, strict, cross browser standards.
- Be able to work in development environments with the foresight of transferring to a live domain.
- Extensive experience using payment gateways from basic PayPal / Google Checkout installations to ePDQ / SagePay module creation / integration with Open Source platforms such as Magento and Wordpress Shopp.
Design:
- Design experience preferred
- Knowledge of Photoshop, if possible, InDesign and Fireworks
- Must be able to dissect a visual and code into web format.
MySQL:
- Custom MySQL database structure design.
- Must have a good understanding of the data structure of both Wordpress and Magento.
Unix/Servers
- Server management
- Confident using Linux Ubuntu/Fedora systems
- Server monitoring, problem prevention and recovery
MySQL server management:
- Basic experience using server management software in particular, Parallels Plesk
- Client / account setups, e-mail account transfers from live domains
Domains:
- Domain management tasks, registration, transfers and control
- DNS setup and transition experience
Relationships:
- Customer relations, managing needs, advising project tasks in a friendly and professional manner
Management:
- Project and Time Management
