BuildASign.com is looking for an outstanding UX designer to join our creative team. In this multi-faceted, in-house role you’ll be heading up design and interaction efforts on a variety of web projects. Qualifications

• Proven experience creating functional (and beautiful) designs for large e-commerce websites and an understanding of what makes a great online shopping experience, demonstrated by a top-notch online portfolio.
• Experience creating a wide range of UX deliverables, including sketches, wireframes, functional specifications, interactive prototypes, and design comps.
• Ability to interpret needs and requirements from a variety of sources, especially marketing and development. Being able to effectively communicate about your designs throughout the company is a must.
• Up to date with current web & design trends, technologies, and limitations, and an enthusiasm for trying new design and interaction solutions.
• Excellent typographic and layout skills. We love grid-based design and detailed wireframing, and you should too.
• Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills, although we won’t hold it against you if you’re quickest with Fireworks.
• Flash, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript skills (or at the very least, an understanding of their strengths and limitations as they relate to design.)
• BFA fine arts, BA in leading design program, or prior design experience.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Reports to Creative Manager
• Collaborate with the creative and management team to produce wireframes, comps, prototypes, and design/functional specifications for the BuildASign.com website as well as a variety of new and existing microsites.
• Produce visual and web assets for development team, with an eye for pixel-perfection and file size optimization.
• Spearheading an overall visual and styling update to the BuildASign.com website, with an emphasis on implementing great design consistently across the site.
• Occasionally assist with video, print, and other design/interaction projects as needed.
